Location: Goldfields WA
Material: Gold Ore
The client operates a gold mine with ore sourced from an open pit and processed through a traditional Crushing, Milling and Carbon in leach process. The mill circuit was operating at capacity and scatting. The client wanted to increase gold production however the cost to upgrade the fixed crushing circuit or mill was prohibitive so OPS were approached to provide a solution.
OPS Provided a mobile crushing circuit incorporating a TEREX Finlay J—1175 Jaw Crusher, C-1540 Cone Crusher, 693+ screen and a tracked feeder unit. With this typical crushing circuit the client was now able to create a smaller -16mm product either from ROM material or from the stockpiled mill scats. Due to the potential contamination of mill balls we set the plant up with extra magnets and increased the sensitivity of the C-1540 factory fitted metal detector. The tracked feeder was used to introduce the crusher ore into the fixed plant.
The client was now able to create a smaller feed material for the mill and increase gold production without any fixed plant upgrades. They also had an auxiliary plant that could be used in the production of aggregates on site such as roadbase and blast hole stemming. The auxiliary crushing circuit meant production could continue in the case of scheduled or unscheduled maintenance on the fixed plant and the client was also comfortable processing the historic stockpiles of high grade scats through the TEREX Finlay plant safe in the knowledge that they their fixed plant was free to process virginal material only.
